Analysis of A Level H2 Chemistry Paper 1 MCQ:
This paper is quite balanced when it comes to the different sections of H2 Chemistry syllabus being tested, as per time allocated in their JC1 and JC2 lectures and tutorials.
- Physical Chemistry – 14 questions
- Inorganic Chemistry – 5 questions
- Organic Chemistry – 11 questions
In general, this paper is considered quite easy for those students who have strong foundation of their H2 Chemistry Concepts and associated keywords. There weren’t any extremely difficult or tricky questions this year. The questions on Organic Chemistry were relatively striaght forward and some can be solved within a minute. Only Q30 which is based on Quantitative Electrolysis is a bit troublesome and time-consuming because students are required to visualise what the question is asking and then to do the necessary calculations.
There was only 1 repeat question based on the A Level H2 Chemistry Ten Year Series (2009-2018). Question 25 came out in 2011 before.
